Roadmap and thoughts
Most forms I build are multi-page and typically utilise custom validation callbacks, ajax and sessions. FormIgniter does not and will never provide these things. It was designed to do one thing, and one thing only.
It provides the starting blocks and has consistently saved me time, and automated the dull work. I don't intend to add much. I want to improve the design and user interface, to make it a little clearer, and nicer to use. I will possibly add date helper fields, as I tend to use these a lot in my forms.
Features and Bug Fixes
- JavaScript auto fieldname completion ON/OFF setting
- Go through phpmyadmin and exclude field types which can't have a value/length
- Add support for form_name which is used to label the controller/model/db table - Questionable whether this is necessary
To Decide:
- Form valiation custom callback field
- Add support for 3 field date select boxes
- Add css class names to form and selects/checkboxes/radios/li>
Future:
- Experiment with better user interface in particular a "one line per field" display instead of two large boxes per "line"
